Richard Johnson (2018 Texas congressional candidate)
Richard Johnson (Democratic Party) ran for election to the U.S. House to represent Texas' 18th Congressional District. He lost in the Democratic primary on March 6, 2018.
Biography
Richard Johnson was born in Houston, Texas. He graduated from Furr High School. Johnson served in the U.S. Army. He earned a bachelor's degree in history and government from Wiley College, an M.A. in clinical philosophy from Texas Southern University, and a Ph.D. in higher education from Wiley College. Johnson’s career experience includes working as chief of staff for two Houston City Councilmen and advising team leader for St. Phillips College. Johnson founded the Golden Eagle Leadership Academy in 1991 and Chatawa Management International Incorporated, serving as president from 2004 to 2006. He serves as chief of staff for State Representative Jarvis Johnson.[1]
