Richard Liebowitz
Richard Liebowitz was a certificated justice of the Westchester County Supreme Court in the 9th Judicial District of New York. He served in this position from 2006 until his retirement in 2011.[1][2][3]
Education
Liebowitz received his B.S. degree from Manhattan College in 1957 and his J.D. degree from the Fordham University Law School in 1960.[1]
Career
Liebowitz began his career in 1964, serving in the Yonkers Law Department. In 1968, he became Chief Counsel for the St. Pauls Fire and Marine Insurance Company. He served in that capacity until 1980, when he became a private practice lawyer. In 1982, he joined the law firm of Kroll, Pomerantz & Cameron. He then practiced with Devito, Pilkington & Leggett for a brief time in 1984. Later that year, he became an Assistant Westchester County District Attorney. He left that position in late 1991 and became a judge of the Yonkers City Court in 1992. He served on the City Court until he was elected to the Supreme Court in 2005. He also served as an acting judge of the Westchester County Family Court in 2005.[1]
