Biography

Richard Mata was born in Los Angeles, California. He served in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1967. Mata earned an associate degree from Rio Hondo College, a bachelor's degree from the University of La Verne in 1984, and a master's degree from Whittier College in 1988. His career experience includes working as an educator. He is a lifetime member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).[1]

I believe that legislation is needed that will allow all senior recipients receiving social security benefits should be paid with non taxable funds. In addition, all seniors would be able to purchase all prescribed medications either at dealers cost or close to it.
Like many other people my mother. She was a single parent parent raising five children. From her I learned many important values such as hard work , love of family, being a responsible person and a good citizen, to care for my community, to love my country and stand up for what I believe in.

While serving in the US Army, in 1966, I was deployed to Vietnam for combat duty as an automatic rifleman. During a combat mission I sustained wounds as we encountered an ambush. As a result I was awarded the Purple and the Combat Infantry Badge. Needless to say this event changed my life for my entire adulthood.
My first job in the work force was for Hudson's Jewelers in East Los Angeles. My duties from custodial to sales. I worked their from the age of 16 to 18 years old.

The greatest challenge our nation is the division that exists today's times. Much effort and attention to bring people together is needed to unify us in order to build a more prosperous nation for our people.
Its important for a congressperson to be a responsible person. That person must realize that their assign duties must be carried out to the best of his or her abilities. The political official should have and show excellent communication and relationships with others.
Leadership skills does require previous experience. This allows them to draw from their past failures and successes those helpful points that will enable them to do a more proficient job.
There is a time and place for everything. Allowing for more time in order to better prepare for a task can be acceptable. However, if a filibuster is not for a positive purpose its just a bad waste of time.
First, I want to see if the candidate is qualified for the set position. Then I want to see how knowledge of the requirements called for position being interviewed for and what experience do they bring to the table. I will also look at how they carry themselves during the interview. This includes others have objectively said about the candidate. I will then evaluate the above points in order to confirm or not the candidate.
Yes, this way we can have better working relationships with others. This way we can build on synergism and strengthen teamwork.
