Richard Mata

Biography
Richard Mata was born in Los Angeles, California. He served in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1967. Mata earned an associate degree from Rio Hondo College, a bachelor's degree from the University of La Verne in 1984, and a master's degree from Whittier College in 1988. His career experience includes working as an educator. He is a lifetime member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).[1]

|- As a veteran , I believe in a strong and top rate military of all branches of service. It is imperative that we provide needed services and follow up attention for the well being to our veterans.
- As an former educator, I find that much need improvements to our schools is necessary. Students need to be taught vital skills needed to succeed in today's society.
- I am a strong supporter of our first amendment. I particular, freedom of speech and freedom of religion. Everyone has the right to express their views and practice their faith of chose.
