Currently mayor pro tem of Blaine, business owner, father of two. I have spent 20 years advocating for schools, libraries, working people, and a clean sustainable environment. I went to trade school and worked hard jobs for decades, eventually owning 2 businesses with 20 employees, so I understand what it's like to try and earn a living, and I understand small business. In government and policy, the first thing I do is check with the people that would be impacted by any new changes, and make sure if they have any better ideas on how it should work.
  • Track record of results we want, 20 years working side by side with people around the district.
  • People shouldn't be priced out of their homes
  • Working families and small business, with sustainable farming and nature.
Housing, education, sustainable clean water and environment
ability to listen and to seek out the perspectives of those impacted by policy
ability to listen and to seek out the perspectives of those impacted by policy, then distill that information into the most effective policy with the least amount of downsides.
went to trade school and worked in restaurants for 3 decades
Have two times been without employment or housing, have been seriously injured in a car accident
Housing, electrical generating capacity, working conditions, sustainability
Getting stuff done in the community separate from government is a key skill that can inform government policy making.
essential to be able to work with other legislators because policy will impact so many people in so many places
true non partisan civic districting experts drawing boundaries that are actually based on community and geographical boundaries, not based on election outcome potentials
in a true emergency, yes, requiring renewal to continue dependent on the continued existence of the emergency
Almost all policy is imperfect and will negatively impact someone somewhere. So it is essential to find balance with every change to policy.
