Richard McFarlane was a 2016 Democratic candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 11th Congressional District of New Jersey.[1] McFarlane was defeated by Joseph Wenzel in the Democratic primary.[2]

Frelinghuysen defeated Rick Van Glahn in the Republican primary, while Wenzel won the Democratic nomination against Lee Anne Brogowski and Richard McFarlane. The primary elections took place on June 7, 2016. Frelinghuysen won re-election in the November 8 election.[3][4][5]
