Richard N. LaFlamme

Richard N. LaFlamme is a judge for the 4th Circuit Court in Jackson County, Michigan. He was appointed by Republican Governor Rick Snyder on August 9, 2011, to replace former Judge Chad Schmucker. In 2012, he was elected to a partial term ending in January 2017.[1] He ran unopposed for re-election in 2016.[2]
Biography
LaFlamme received his bachelor's degree from Northern Michigan University in 1977 and his law degree from the University of Michigan in 1980. He worked at Dykema Gossett before starting his own law firm in 1989. He specialized in employment, commercial and business law, and civil litigation.[1]
Elections
2016
Michigan held general elections for local judicial offices on November 8, 2016. A primary election occurred on August 2, 2016. The candidate filing deadline for incumbents was March 21, and the deadline for non-incumbents was April 19.[3] Incumbent Susan E. Beebe and incumbent Richard N. LaFlamme were unopposed in the 4th Circuit general election (2 open seats).[2]

LaFlamme was elected after running unopposed in 2012. He served a partial term which expired on January 1, 2017.[4][5]
