Richard Pollack sworn in as Hawaii Supreme Court Justice

Honolulu, HI: Richard W. Pollack was sworn as Associate Justice of the Hawaii Supreme Court by Chief Justice Mark Recktenwald on August 6th at a ceremony in the Hawaii Supreme Court courtroom.[1]

Pollack was appointed by Governor Neil Abercrombie and unanimously approved by the Senate in June of 2012.[2] His term is officially ten years, however he will reach the mandatory retirement age of 70 in 2020. His salary will be $151,118.[1]

Prior to his Supreme Court appointment, Pollack served as a judge in the O'ahu First Circuit for over a decade. He holds a J.D. from the University of California Hastings College of the Law.[3]
