A Richwood Village Property Tax Levy question was on the November 6, 2012 election ballot in Union County, which is in Ohio, where it was defeated.
If approved, this question would have authorized the Village of Richwood to impose a property tax levy of up to 3 mills ($3 per $1,000 of assessed valuation) for five years in order to provide for the current operating expenses of the Village. This tax replaces a portion of an existing levy, decreasing the rate by 1 mill.[1]

Language on the ballot:
| “ | A replacement of a portion of an existing levy, being a reduction of 1 mills to constitute a tax for the benefit of the Village of Richwood for the purpose of CURRENT OPERATING EXPENSES at a rate not exceeding 3 mills for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to $0.30 for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for five years, commencing in 2012, first due in calendar year 2013.[1][2] | ” |
