Champion ran for election to the 15A Judicial District of the Third Division of the Superior Court.
General: He was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014, after receiving 15.7 percent of the vote. He competed against Keith Whited, James K. Roberson, Mike Rodgers (North Carolina) and Alex Dawson, III. [1] 

Education

Champion received his J.D. from North Carolina Central School of Law in 1984.[2]
