Rick Chavez Zbur (Democratic Party) is a member of the California State Assembly, representing District 51. He assumed office on December 5, 2022. His current term ends on December 7, 2026.
Zbur (Democratic Party) ran for re-election to the California State Assembly to represent District 51. He won in the general election on November 5, 2024.
Biography
Rick Chavez Zbur was born in Peralta, New Mexico, and lives in Los Angeles, California. Zbur earned a bachelor's degree in history from Yale College in 1979 and a J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1983. His career experience includes working as an attorney for Latham & Watkins in Los Angeles, California, and as the executive director of Equality California. Zbur volunteered on the national board of Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund, helped found the Children Affected by AIDS Foundation, and served on the board of Planned Parenthood – Los Angeles and California Environmental Voters.[1][2]
