Rick Magnis
Rick Magnis was the judge of the 283rd District Court in Texas.[1] He did not seek re-election in 2018.

Magnis ran for re-election to the 283rd District Court.
Primary: He was successful in the Democratic primary on March 4, 2014, receiving 52.1 percent of the vote. He competed against Justin Lord.
General: He won without opposition in the general election on November 4, 2014.

2010
Magnis defeated Republican Randall Parker in the general election, winning 51.86% of the vote.[5]
Education
Magnis received his J.D. from the University of Tulsa in 1983.[6]
Career
From 1989 until the time of his election to the bench, Magnis worked for the Dallas County Public Defender's Office. Prior to that he worked in private practice and ran a legal clinic for senior citizens.[6]
