Rick Olseen (b. August 6, 1956) was a Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party member of the Minnesota State Senate. He was first elected to this position in November of 2006. Before being a Senator, Olseen was a member of the Chisago County Board of Commissioners from 2002 to 2006 and a member of the North Branch School Board from 1991 to 2001. He was defeated in the November 2, 2010, general election.

Olseen graduated from 916 Vocational-Tech Academy and is Truck and Trailer Repair Estimator.

Olseen ran for election in the 2012 election for Minnesota House of Representatives District 32B. He was unopposed in the Democratic primary on August 14 and was defeated by Bob Barrett (R) in the general election on November 6, 2012.[2][3]

2010

Olseen lost re-election to the 17th District seat in 2010. He had no primary opposition. Sean Nienow running for the seat on the Republican ticket. The general election took place on November 2, 2010.[4]

2006

On November 7, 2006, Olseen won election to the 17th District Seat in the Minnesota State Senate, defeating opponents Sean Nienow (R) and Bill Neuman (I).[5]
