Candidate Connection

Rick Raley participated in Ballotpedia's candidate survey on March 28, 2018. The survey questions appear in bold, and Rick Raley's responses follow below.[1]

What would be your top three priorities, if elected?

1) Create good-paying, middle-class jobs

2) Ensure quality public schools from pre-K to college
3) Combat the Opioid Crisis[2][3]

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about? Why?

I am personally passionate about justice system issues because of my experience as a Judicial Attorney and a Prosecutor. I believe that our current system provides inadequate resources to address the drug addiction, mental health problems, and limited economic opportunities that lead to much of the crime that we see in our communities. And, our system does too little to keep violent criminals, especially felons who possess guns, off the streets. As our state starts the process of rewriting its criminal laws, I want to be on the ground floor to offer my experience and legal background.Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; invalid names, e.g. too many[3]
