Ricky Burgess (Pennsylvania)
Ricky Burgess (Democratic Party) was a member of the Pittsburgh City Council in Pennsylvania, representing District 9. Burgess assumed office in 2008. Burgess left office on January 1, 2024.
Burgess (Democratic Party) ran for re-election to the Pittsburgh City Council to represent District 9 in Pennsylvania. Burgess won in the general election on November 5, 2019.
Biography
Burgess attended Central Catholic High School. He received a bachelor's degree from LaSalle University and a master's degree from Eastern Michigan University. His professional experience includes serving as a pastor at Nazarene Baptist Church. He has also been a communications professor at the Community College of Allegheny County.[1]

The city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, held elections for city council on November 3, 2015. A primary took place on May 19, 2015. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was March 11, 2015. Five of the nine city council seats were up for election. In the primary election for District 9, incumbent Ricky Burgess faced Twanda D. Carlisle, Judith K. Ginyard and Andre Young. Burgess was the winner.[2] He won re-election without opposition.[3]
