Biography
Ricky Hill graduated from Cabot High School. Hill earned a master's degree in agriculture business and economics from Arkansas State University at Jonesboro in 1991. His career experience includes co-owning residential rental property and working as the executive vice president of Bank OZK, the vice president of First Security Bank, and the general manager of SF Services. Hill has served as the president of the Cabot School Board, the secretary of the Cabot Chamber of Commerce, and a co-founding board member of the Keep the Faith Foundation.[1][2]

Republican primary election
The Republican primary election was canceled. Incumbent Ricky Hill advanced from the Republican primary for Arkansas State Senate District 29.
2018
A special election for the position of Arkansas State Senate District 29 was called for May 22, 2018. A special primary election was called for February 13, 2018. The candidate filing deadline was December 13, 2017.[3]
The seat became vacant following Eddie Joe Williams' (R) resignation. He resigned his seat on November 15, 2017, in order to serve as President Donald Trump's (R) representative to the Southern States Energy Board.[4]
Ricky Hill (R) defeated Steven McNeely (D) in the special election. McNeely was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Hill defeated Jim Coy in the Republican primary.[5][6]
