An effort to recall three of the 10 members of the Ridgefield Park Public Schools Board of Education in New Jersey began in August 2021. Thomas Vercelli, Christopher Gibbons, and Jorge Fernandez were named in the notices of intent to recall.[1][2] The recall effort did not go to a vote.[3]

The recall effort started after the board voted to suspend the superintendent in July 2021.[4]

The Bergen County Clerk’s Elections Division approved the notices of intent to recall on August 3, 2021.[1] To get the recall on the ballot, supporters would have had to collect signatures equal to 25% of registered voters in the school district in 160 days.[5]
