A Ridgeway Township Fire Levy Renewal proposal was on the November 6, 2012 election ballot in Lenawee County, which is in Michigan where it was approved.
This proposal authorized the Ridgeway Township levy a property tax of .5 mill ($0.50 per $1,000 of assessed valuation for 4 years in order to fund Fire Department maintenance and improvements. This tax would consist of .4885 mill in a renewal of a previously approved property tax and .0115 mill of a new tax increase. The estimated first year revenue from this composed tax was $28,223.69.[[1]

| “ | This proposal is the renewal of a millage which expired with the 2011 tax levy.
Shall the increase in the tax limitations imposed under Article IX, Section 6 of the Michigan Constitution in Ridgeway Township be restored by a renewal of .4885 mill ($.4885 per $1,000 of taxable value) and an increase of .0115 mill ($.0115 per $1,000 Taxable value) for the period of 2012 through 2015 inclusive for fire department maintenance and improvements and shall the township levy such millage upon taxable real and personal property within the Township for said purpose thereby raising an estimated $28,223.69 in the first year the millage is levied?[1][2] |
