Riko E. Bishop
Riko E. Bishop is a judge for District 1 of the Nebraska Court of Appeals. She assumed office on July 19, 2013. Her current term ends on January 4, 2029.
Bishop ran for re-election for the District 1 judge of the Nebraska Court of Appeals. She won in the retention election on November 8, 2022.
Bishop was appointed by Republican Governor Dave Heineman on July 19, 2013.[1]
Biography
Riko Bishop received her B.A. in education and English from Kearney State College in 1977 and her J.D. from the University of Nebraska College of Law in 1992.[1] Bishop taught English and creative writing and worked for a marketing firm before attending law school. After law school, Bishop was a law clerk for Nebraska Court of Appeals Chief Judge Richard Sievers before joining the law firm of Perry Guthery Haase & Gessford in August 1993. Bishop was an attorney and shareholder with the firm until her appointment to the court of appeals in 2013.[2][1]
