A special election for the position of Iowa House of Representatives District 6 was held on January 16, 2018. The filing deadline for candidates to run in this election was January 2, 2018.[1]

The seat became vacant after Jim Carlin (R) was elected to the state Senate in a special election on December 12, 2017.

Rita DeJong (D) and Jacob Bossman (R) faced off in the special election.[2]

Bossman (R) was the winner.[3]
