Rita Fleming
Rita Fleming (Democratic Party) was a member of the Indiana House of Representatives, representing District 71. She assumed office on November 7, 2018. She left office on May 13, 2024.
Fleming (Democratic Party) ran for re-election to the Indiana House of Representatives to represent District 71. She did not appear on the ballot for the general election on November 5, 2024.
Fleming resigned in March 2024 to focus on family.[1]
Biography
Assemblymember Fleming graduated from Murray State University with her undergraduate degree, and later earned graduate degrees from Vanderbilt University and the University of Louisville. In her professional career, she served as a registered nurse and later became a nurse practitioner. After completing medical school and residency, she began a career as an obstetrician/gynecologist.[2]
In addition to these positions, Fleming has served on the Jeffersonville Planning Commission and Zoning Boards. She also served on the Library Foundation Board.[2]
