A River Forest Village Home Rule Question was on the November 6, 2012 ballot in the village of River Forest, which is in Cook County, where it was defeated.
This measure sought to give home rule status to the village. This measure would have allowed the village to create a create government to set rules and govern the village without having to lean on state legislation. Also, it would have allowed for more local control of issues, taxes and projects.[1]
