Rob Core
Rob Core was a candidate for at-large representative on the Monongalia County Board of Education in West Virginia. He withdrew before the general election on May 10, 2016.[1][2]
Core twice previously ran for a seat on the board. He was defeated in the general election on May 13, 2014, and in the general election on May 8, 2012.[3][4]
Elections
2016
Two of the five seats on the Monongalia County Schools Board of Education were up for general election on May 10, 2016. In their bids for re-election, incumbents Ronald Lytle and Nancy Walker ran unopposed and won additional terms. Rob Core originally filed to run as a challenger in this race, but he withdrew on February 16, 2016, the last day he was able to do so.[1][5][6][2]
Though the election was held at large, only two members from the same geographical district could be on the board during a given term. Both incumbents were from the Eastern District. Because they ran unopposed to retain their seats, the district rule did not affect the election.[1][7]
2014
Rob Core faced incumbents Barbara L. Parsons, Mike Kelly and Clarence Harvey, Jr. for one of three at-large seats in the general election on May 13, 2014.
