Rob Johnson (Republican Party) was a member of the Oklahoma State Senate, representing District 22. He assumed office in 2010. He left office on November 19, 2014.

Johnson (Republican Party) ran in a special election to the Oklahoma State Senate to represent District 22. He was disqualified from the special Republican primary scheduled on February 9, 2021.

Johnson previously served as assistant majority floor leader. Johnson did not seek re-election in 2014. Johnson served as a Republican member of the Oklahoma House of Representatives, representing District 59 from 2006 to 2008.

Biography

Johnson earned his B.S. in political science from Oklahoma State University and his J.D. from the University of Oklahoma. His professional experience includes owning a private law practice, and working as a Legislative Assistant to Congressman Wes Watkins and Legislative Director to Congressman Tom Cole.[1]

A special election for Oklahoma State Senate District 22 was called for April 6, 2021. A primary took place on February 9, 2021. The candidate filing deadline was December 9, 2020.[2]

The seat became vacant after Stephanie Bice (R) was elected to represent Oklahoma's 5th Congressional District. Her resignation was effective December 31, 2020.[2]

Johnson defeated two opponents in the Republican primary on July 27, defeating his closest rival, Bob Barnett, by a margin of 5,214-2,606. He was unopposed in the general election. Vote totals were not reported.[3][4][5][6]
