Rob Ronky was born in Kingston PA. he moved to Doylestown at a young age. For the last 47 years he has lived in New Britain Borough. Rob graduated Central Bucks West in 1987.
He went on to work for Best of France Antiques where he is currently employed. He has enjoyed a 35 year + career traveling the USA in the art and antiques field.
Rob is an active board member and art handler for VAMPA Art and Paranormal Museum. He has received his board position in 2019.
Rob is married to Lucy Ronky and they have a 10-year-old daughter together.
In his spare time, he enjoys restoring and riding antique motorcycles. His collection spans the years between 1925-1942.
on most summer days you can find him riding his bicycle to work or around the Doylestown area. Central Bucks has a vast bicycle trail system. he welcomes anyone that would like to come out and experience them.
Rob will be dedicated and hard working for the people of Pennsylvania. as he feels PA. belongs to them not the politicians
  • I would work towards Pennsylvania passing Defend the Guard legislation. Defend the guard will stop the deployment of our national guard overseas. Men and women that signup for the guard do so with the knowledge that they will remain in the USA. Our national guard is to be used as law enforcement and help during national disasters. On several occasion they have been deployed to active war zones overseas. The only time they are to be deployed into active combat zones is. If the President asks for " was" and Congress declares it as stated in our constitution.
  • I would like to see our legislators vote on term limits along with other things that limit them.
One would be to end the ability to receive gifts and not declare them. Our current group has the ability to get cash, trips meals cars and a ton of other things. We need to place an end to this by writing legislation to stop it.
we also need to stop schoolboards from giving out golden parachutes to superintendents. last year a PA schoolboard allowed one to resign and receive $750,000 on his way out. That effects every taxpayer in the district.

on last thing to look into is how cyber charter schools are run. They need more public oversight. Many are making profit hand over fist. Education will need a large overhaul in how it is financed
  • 2024 was a trying year for many families. Many needed to cut spending to stay afloat. tighten the belt so to say. It's time our state legislators look into tightening the sate belt. Every budget in Pennsylvania needs to be look at hard. People can't afford ever increasing tax bills. something needs to give. by cutting spending across the board. We can put the brakes on rising property taxes.
When it comes to public policy. I would like to limit the government involvement in our lives. They have no right to tell you "Who you can marry, what you can put in your body and how you can use your property"
You belong to yourself not a government entity. I will always vote to protect your personal liberties.
We have an ever-increasing price on homes. Some say it is gouging. Take a look into what a local municipality charges for building permits. anywhere from $35,000-65,000. That needs to end. How can someone afford to build their own home? you need a $45. permit to have a dumpster for 30 days and must renew it every 30 days. We need to end this government overreach.
Pennsylvania belongs to you. Not the politicians!
Politicians need to be able to work with one another. More and more we see absolute disagreement. Almost as they need to humiliate the opposition. We need to find a more cohesive approach to find the best answer for the public. Law makers need to remember that they work for the people, all the people not just a few. they need to be friendly open minded and ready to listen.
I feel that I can work with anybody in finding a good solution to a problem.
To do the best they can. Law makers need to listen to the people not corporations or special interest groups. they need to stop taking campaign funds from these groups and work more towards helping Pennsylvanians.
They need to work within the guidelines of the Constitution. Not special interest groups.
Politicians should be like a band in a nightclub. If you don't hear them, they're entertaining. If you hear them, they're too loud. I don't want to be loud just productive. Helping people. I don't want to be the guy they say " boy did he screw that up" I'll go for " he really listened to us"
The first one I can remember would be the Bicentennial 1976. I was 8 and the memories not so vivid. I do remember watching the attempted assassination of Ronald Regan. That year I was in 6th grade. One of the teachers brought a few classes together and told us " Ronald Regan and James Brady had been shot. No one in our class knew James Brady. Someone asked about Brady.
Our teacher went into a 15-minute discussion about James Brady. As I write this. I can see in my mind it was easier for our teacher to talk about Brady. It was difficult for him to talk about the shooting. He was able to move onto talking about advisers and presidential assistants. A way to move on from a horrible moment and move to learning about other parts of how the president's office works.
My first job is the one I currently have. When I was 14 years old, I started working for the Best of France Antiques. The owner had started a company importing French antiques. He was in need of help unloading his first shipping container. I was in need of a few extra dollars that summer. I worked on and off during the next few summers. Then at 23 I went full time. Sales, restoration and deliveries. Over the years it grew into a company that traveled the states doing trade shows. We traveled from Massachusetts, Texas, New Orleans, Illinois, Florida and North Carolina. It's a job that has taught me how to work with people from all kinds of backgrounds. Sometimes it's hard for me to believe i have stayed for 35+ years.
Nothing Like It In the World: The Men Who Built the Transcontinental Railroad. Stephen E Ambrose. Talks about the struggles of hard work and rough weather. How different ethnicities had different rolls in the construction of a railroad. How owners of construction companies cheated to get paid more and then paid to repair their bad work.
One chapter talks about surveying in the early days. It shows how this country was mobilized 160 years ago.
Forest Gump. Not a worry in the world. Every turn of his life was a historical event. He stumbled on so many things. From teaching Elvis to dance. A national championship, Water Gate, a shrimping business and Apple computer stock.
BILL WITHERS Lean on Me. He's right "we all need somebody we can lean on. " As I write this another song came on. Fleetwood Mac Landslide " and I saw my reflection in the snow-covered hills" So much great music out there. If we just turn off the talking heads and listen to music. We might be a bit happier. Mentioned the Talking Heads know I'm singing Take Me To the River
When I was in 6th grade. I had arm surgery twice. For 18 months I could not feel my hand or wiggle my fingers. During that same year my parents got divorced. I felt like my life was crashing. That was a hard two years. We need to work on keeping families together. It's a big strain on children.
They need to work in unison and act as oversight of one another. Acting fairly on changes recommended by the other.
I believe we have several challenges ahead of us. We need to keep schools from falling apart, public transportation is mismanaged. Septa lost 80 million in railcar deposits. Now we the taxpayer need to bail them out. Covering that loss will do nothing to improve their infrastructure.
Public schools have schoolboards that are constantly battling over control. When they should be working towards students getting a better education.
Fentanyl deaths are at an all-time high. we need to work at removing it from our streets. Many may not see in their neighborhoods. So, they turn a blind eye to it. Fentanyl is harming our cities and lots of families. We need to look into some long-term cost-effective solutions. we can look at Sweden's approach to reducing heavy drug use. They have some great studies showing results from 2,5,10 and 14 years out.
Other issues i believe we need to address are high taxes, (gas and property). These can be done by lowering spending. We will need to pinch and save anywhere we can. Many lawmakers have never worked for a company that needs to show a profit. It's time we run it as a business not an endless stream of money.
No. They get too familiar with doing things the wrong way. As I said above. " Many of these lawmakers have never worked for a business that needs to show a profit" if something fails, they take more money from the taxpayer and move on. No accountability for failing.
Yes, we all will need to work together. In building a good relationship with others, you'll have a way to see what they need or require. It takes two to tango and many to run the state. By listening to other lawmakers, one will find what is important to other Pa. residence. Lots of times the need of an inner-city resident is not the same as a person living in the Poconos. By not listening to all involved you will alienate many. We must work together to build a stronger more financially viable Pennsylvania.
I have listened to many people as I door knocked. so many are fed-up with the current political climate. They're ready for a change. Many young and old are financially struggling. I talked with one parent that as a child bullied in school on a weekly Basis. She claims her " complaints fall on deaf ears" How can a school not be equipped to handle this in 2024?
Can't write it hear. What's it takes to make an octopus laugh? Ten tickles !
Yes. The first emergency declaration should be done by the governor. That declaration should be good for an allotted time period. Any subsequent declaration should be voted on by the legislation. On many occasions the first one needs to be done rapidly to get FEMA, the National Guard or funding in place. After that it is of the upmost importance that the legislation votes on the next emergency declaration. This will limit the Govenor from being heavy handed in his use of power.
My first bill would be a gift ban for all elected officials.
I'd like to work on the Department of transportation committee, finance or whatever committee I can get.
For many years I have driven across PA. Pennsylvania is not friendly to commercial drivers. We as a state need to rethink how we treat our supply chain workers.
The more transparent the better. Everything should be recorded and filmed. No backroom deals.
It would be a great thing. allow the people to have more say in decision making. Certainly, would take big money out of the picture. There is nothing wrong with bringing the people back into deciding what is best for their area. We try to elect people that will do the best for us. That doesn't always work. With ballot initiatives residence will decide what is best for them. then lawmakers can act on it. It is a shame we don't have them during presidential elections. Yes, I'm all for ballot initiatives.

I have lived in Central bucks for 50 years. I'm married and have an 8 year old daughter. I went through the Central Bucks school system. For the last 30 years I have held the same job. Managing a multi national company. Importing fine arts and antiques. This has taught me how to work with many cultural differences in coming up with business solutions. Along with that I'm a board member of VAMPA Museum. I would strive to make education better in Pa. By starting with al day kindergarten. Along with that. thinks kids should be taught a second language earlier than 8th grade.

I would work with the state to get more funding for bike and hike trails. Clean air will start with less cars on the road. Many of our roads lack a sidewalk or path for bikes. Over the past few election cycles. I have watched both parties cause major fighting between friends family and neighbors. It's time for this to stop. As an independent. I feel that I can bring both parties together while working for the people of Central Bucks. I have no party bosses to satisfy. I look forward to helping the people of Central Bucks We can move on from our party differences. Build a friendlier, cleaner and more productive place to live.

  • I will strive to make Harrisburg work for the people. No more my way or the highway. Let's meet in the middle.
  • I would like to see schools and parents get along. I support all day kindergarten and earlier second language classes
  • I support term limits of 12 years. No more career politicians. They got us here. Hopefully rookies can get us out.
I would vote to keep Pa pro choice. I believe as parents we can do better teaching our children about choices they make. Take the time to explain how babies are made. Teach them ways to be safe. Teach them they can talk to us about how some actions may change their lives. That applies to adults also. Better decision making goes along way. Education is also a point we need too work on. Our children are our future. They need us to be adults in times like this.
I don't look up to athletes or movie stars. Can't say that any modern politicians would be roll models either. would say my mother and wife. My mother was a single parent raising a rambunctious child. She had worked 2 jobs trying to keep me clothed and housed. It was a little harder in the 80's. with the stigma of being a divorced female.

Also my wife. She is homeschooling our child. It's not easy stuck at home with your only contact being a child. She's able to keep it together and teach our daughter several languages. I'd like to do the best job i can. trying to get people to come back together again. A compromise. level heads with no ego involved.
We need officials that can come up with a compromise. People that keep their ego in check.
I can work with anybody. With my help. We can do better. Build a better cleaner and more productive Bucks County. I have worked for the same corporation for 30 years. That shows loyalty and dedication. like to have fun and love my family
Listening to the people. Helping locals that are in a jam with other branches of the government. A go between for state and local.
As long as my daughter can say "I loved my dad or he taught me how to do this" That's the only legacy I care about.
I vaguely remember the splashdown of Apollo 17. Watching it return to earth. with my grandmother. She was so mad that it had interrupted her soap opera ( Guiding light) Watergate is another thing that is vague also. The end of Vietnam. All these things are a little vague in memory. even the bicentennial. The first thing that really is clear would be President Regan and James Brady getting shot. I was in the 6th grade. Mr. Jadico's class. They had announces it over the loudspeaker in Pine Run elementary school.
My first job was working for an antique dealer. One summer during junior high. I wanted some spending money. I had wanted a new bicycle. My mother was a single mother and could not afford one. She was able to get me a summer job with one of her friends. He was starting a business importing antiques from around the world. At the time i was helping him mostly with deliveries. That lasted about 2 summers. A few ears after high school i returned to a company that was growing by leaps and bounds. From furniture to art and then garden sculptor. Every year brought on a new task. More clients and an ever growing region. That first job has encompassed 40 years. It has taught a lot about handling problems. How to find the best solutions
My head is a fight between rock and country. If there is one that touches me it is Tim McGraws. " don't Take the Girl". That was the first song i heard on the way home from my daughter's birth. I had left the hospital to get a few things for my wife. as i started my car. It came on the radio.

For the last week it has been Sublime's Santeria. I just put it on to finish this survey.

It's fun to watch my daughter sing Rose tattoo by Dropkick Murphys Rose Tattoo. People need to listen to more music. Turn the talk shows off and rock out.
He should be there to help show the legislature where the need to trim BS from. He should not be there to push party lines. By the time something hits that desk. It should be near perfect. With the governor saying very little if anything. At times he may need to say " I think this is not legal. Can we research it" Or can the legislature work on this for the folks of PA.? At no time should this become a group of ego driven people. sadly it has. A group of lawmakers out to push their lopsided agendas.
Several things come to mind. One would be the state of disrepair our roads are in. Many of our concrete bridges look like they will fall into the creek. Our roads are filled with more chuck holes than a cow pasture. In one word INFRASTRUCTURE. I believe the selling of Bucks county's sewer system will be a failure.

Our education system is going down a dark bath. After two years of covid. Kids seem to be a nightmare. For what ever reason you want to sight. Kids are 2 years behind. We need to get past our differences and help educate our future.

Keeping PA clean will be hard. We have a choice to make on fracking. Should we or not. We have people searching for clean energy. How about we use less. Turn off the extra light. Don't sit in your car letting it idle. turn the engine off when your in a parking lot. f you're hot or cold. walk into the store. We can all do better at how we save energy. Clean air is important
It's very possible a unicameral legislature would get rid of some dead weight in government. It appears we have only one state that uses it. Nebraska. Do things get accomplished in Nebraska? I think so. A quick look into wiki says " most cities are run this way. As far at it goes this is not something i have ever thought of until tonight.
No. I don't believe they need to be lawyers either. People want to say " Yes you need experience. it helps get things done" Remember they were rookies at one time also. I think it only helps them cheat the system. 95 percent of the people out there know right from wrong. You don't need political experience to teach you that. As for politicians being lawyers we don't need that. You don't need a lawyer to tell you "right from wrong" You need a lawyer to convince people your wrong was right. If you're able to make good decisions and meet people in the middle you'll get things done.
Yes. You need to work with everybody in office. Nothing will get accomplished if you can't work with others. You will need support in introducing a bill. If you talk nasty or put others down for their thoughts. You will never receive help. Many in office need to learn how to compromise.
I find it strange that both parties have cried over redistricting. I can see how some would feel it benefits the other. I favor leaving things the way the are. stop moving boarders. If it needs to be done. It might be best to keep school districts in one legislative district. As an independent
Yes. Motor carrier safety committee. Education committee. Water advisory committee.

Our public schools need help. would like to see PA. have all day kindergarten. Along with teaching a second language earlier. most schools in pa start in 8th grade. That's too late. Kids also need to be safe and feel safe in schools.

Motor carriers are having a hard time making a living. Tolls are high. Diesel fuel tax is high (74 cents a gallon to PA.)

PA schools need to do a better job of educating kids. My daughter has attended several different schools. Public brick and mortar was the least educating for her. I know we can do better. We can do better without throwing billions at it.

Water advisory. Pesticides, fertilizer, chemicals erosion and our roadways are causing problems. We need water to live. If we can keep our waterways clean. We can stop using bottled water. This will help cut down on plastics in our landfills. Clean water in a necessity of life. We can do better
No i want to be myself. I want to do better than the others. We can all do better.
No a handful of terms as a state rep will do. I'm not here to step on peoples toes to get ahead. I'm here to build a better, cleaner and more productive Bucks county.
I had a same a same sex couple tell me their struggles with healthcare and their wills. It's sad that some people can build a life of assets and dreams. Only to not get survivor rights to their own things. The government will tax them to death.

Their health insurance had tried to Weasel out of everything they promised. (Not all that unusual for an insurance company). I'll leave out most of the story. I don't know if they want me telling the world. Bottom line is. No one in the insurance company treated them nice. It's time we all get over ourselves
Yes. If a Governor wants to declare an emergency before a storm that's fine. If they want their emergency to extend more than X amount of days. It should be voted on.
Compromise is one of the most important things in policymaking. We can no longer have it my way or the highway. Candidates and constituents need to realize . It can not be one sided. Nothing can be 100 percent your way. We need to meet in the middle. It feels as if we have not had compromise for about 14 years now. Each party trying to out score the other. With a common goal of destroying the other. It can't keep going. It will result in the American people losing. I feel that i will be able to bring both back together.
