|I'm Rob Walter, running for reelection on the Cabarrus County Board of Education. I'm completing my third term (12 years) on the board and I've got strong track record for being prepared, asking questions, and always focusing on what is best for students in our district. I'm a resident of Concord, work full-time for the City of Concord Aviation Department at the Concord-Padgett Regional Airport. My wife Amie and I have one student that graduated from Cabarrus County Schools in 2020 and another that will graduate in 2025.
Community values, input, and engagement are critical part of having a successful school system and I welcome that engagement.
- Experience. I've served on the Cabarrus County School Board for past 12 years, which is the most of any current board members. That experience is valuable in understanding the history and background of past decisions, board policies, and the role and operation of the school board, county commission, and the State of North Carolina.
- I'm a parent of a student in Cabarrus County Schools and bring that perspective to the board first. I believe board decisions, rules, and policies should be understandable and our processes transparent.
- Student success. We all have a role to play in student success at Cabarrus County Schools. Individualized education, Career pathways, school safety, community partnerships, quality leadership, great teachers and staff, and a strategic plan and school improvement process to keep us focused and accountable.
