Jackson is a substitute teacher in Houston County. He is a graduate of Ft. Valley State University. In 2013, he self-published a workbook aimed at helping students master writing and arithmetic.[2]

Post 1 incumbent Rick Unruh and Post 5 incumbent Helen Hughes ran without opposition. Post 3 incumbent Dave Crockett won re-election against Robbin Jackson. Incumbent Bryan Upshaw defeated challenger Andy Rodriguez for At-large Post 7.[1]
