Robert A. Salerno is an associate judge for the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. He joined the court in 2015 after a nomination from President Barack Obama.[1]

Salerno received his bachelor's degree from Brown University in 1983 and his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1990.[1]

Salerno was first nominated on November 12, 2014, by President Barack Obama to a seat on the Superior Court of the District of Columbia vacated by Judge Robert I. Richter. Under provisions of Rule XXXI, paragraph six of the standing rules of the Senate, Salerno's nomination was returned to the president on December 17, 2014. President Obama resubmitted the nomination on April 30, 2015. Hearings on Salerno's nomination were held before the United States Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs on December 3, 2015, and his nomination was discharged by the unanimous consent of the committee on December 17, 2015. Salerno was confirmed on a voice vote of the U.S. Senate on December 17, 2015, and he received his appointment to the court in December of 2015.[1][2][3]
