Robert A. Wherry, Jr. was an Article I federal judge on the United States Tax Court. He joined the court in 2003 after a nomination from President George W. Bush.[1][2] He retired on January 1, 2018.[3]

Education

Wherry earned his B.S. and J.D. from the University of Colorado. He went on to earn an LL.M from New York University Law School, specializing in tax law.[2]

Professional career

Prior to joining the court, Wherry was an attorney in private practice in Colorado.[4]

Judicial career

Tax Court

Wherry was nominated to the United States Tax Court by President George W. Bush and was confirmed by the U.S. Senate. He joined the court on April 23, 2003.[2] He retired on January 1, 2018.<ref name=retire>
