|Being a Colorado native, 47 years in Arapahoe County, and 40 years real estate experience, of which 25 is in the appraisal field, I am the most qualified candidate in the race. In addition, I have many years managerial experience along with a Master's degree in Leadership and Policy Studies.
Arapahoe County encompasses 800 square miles and is the 3rd most populated county in the state. The average household income is $80,561. The average home sale is $608,000. Revenue collected from property taxes is almost half of the revenue needed to run the county. A large portion of the budget is for schools and law enforcement. We need our children to be educated and our streets to be safe!
Given that Arapahoe county is the 3rd largest county in the state, it is logical to assume it is the 3rd largest appraisal office in the state. Why would we elect someone to manage the 3rd largest appraisal office in the state and generates almost 50% of the county's revenue, that has never appraised a property? I have personally appraised thousands of properties and sold hundreds of homes.
My strong work ethic ensures the taxpayers will get their money's worth; I guarantee you that I will report to work EVERY day and ALL day.
I promise my staff will assess your property fairly, ethically and without favoritism.- Experience Matters - I have appraised thousands of home and my opponent has never appraised a property.
- Arapahoe County Deserves Better! The assessors office is a full-time position and expect the Assessor to report to work every day and all day.
- I will advocate to increase the, 20 year old, Senior Homestead Exemption & Disables Veterans Act is funded and increased to keep up with inflation.
I have been selling and appraising real estate for the past 40 years; 25 of which is in the appraisal industry. I have sold hundreds of homes and appraised thousands of homes compared to my opponent having never appraised a property and sells less than one home a year.
Being proactive is far better then being reactive. Educating the community (public, Realtors, loan officers, title agents) is paramount to avoiding future problems.
If a problem does arise, such as tax protest, it is important provide the tax payer the respect they deserve. While we may not be able to reduce their taxes, we need to give them the opportunity to be heard. I taught college credit courses in Customer Service.
