Behning defeated Democratic candidate Timothy Huber and Libertarian candidate Matt Amormino with 11,244 votes to win re-election. Huber received 1,018 votes and Amormino received 689 votes in the November 2 general election.[12]

Behning is a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Decatur Township Civic Council, Decatur Township Lion's Club, Guilford Township Civic Association, Indiana Convention Visitors Association, President of the Board of Lutheran High School of the Mooresville Chamber of Commerce, National Federation of Independent Businesses, Southwest Multi-Service Center Board and the Westview Hospital Board of Directors.[17]
