Robert Berliner was a justice for the Westchester County Supreme Court in the 9th Judicial District of New York. He was elected to a term on this court that began in 2008.[1][2]

Education

Berliner received his B.A. degree from New York University in 1973 and his J.D. degree from the Western New England College School of Law in 1976.[2]

Career

Berliner began his career in 1977 as a law assistant for the Kings County Family Court. In 1979, he became a principal law assistant of the Rockland County Family Court. He then worked as a principal court attorney for the Surrogate's and Supreme Court of Rockland County from 1984 to 2004. He also taught as an adjunct professor at Rockland Community College from 1994 to 1999. In 2005, he served as a principal law clerk of the Rockland County Supreme Court.

Berliner began his judicial career as an Acting Justice of the Rockland County Family Court and Supreme Court. He was elected to the Rockland County Surrogate's Court and took office in 2006.

In 2008, he became a Supreme Court Justice in Westchester County. Berliner was reelected in 2021. Berliner resigned from the court in 2022 after being served with a Formal Written Complaint.[2]
