Robert Blakely
Robert Blakely was a member of the Nevada State Board of Education, representing District 1. Blakely assumed office in 2017. Blakely left office on January 1, 2021.
Blakely ran for election to the Las Vegas City Council to represent Ward 1 in Nevada. Blakely lost in the primary on April 2, 2019.
Biography
Blakely's career began with twenty years spent in engineering positions in Nevada and Arizona, including in the Arizona copper industry. Blakely went on to work at the Nevada Test Site before spending five years on the construction of an Air Force base at the Tonopah Test Range. After that, Blakely worked as a scientist with the U.S. Department of Energy and Bechtel. Prior to his election to the state Board of Education, Blakely served a term as the District 2 representative on the state's Board of Regents.[1]
