Robert Brown (New Jersey)
Robert "Bob" Brown was a 2011 Democratic candidate for District 12 of the New Jersey State Senate. Brown has run unsuccessfully for the New Jersey General Assembly District 13 seat twice, once in 2007 and again in 2009.
Brown is an attorney and retired police officer. Since 1988, Brown has owned his own law practice, Robert C. Brown, Esq. Before becoming an attorney, he was a police officer with the Old Bridge Police Department from 1975-1988. Brown was shot in the line of duty in 1981, and now, under new legislation, is considered a "wounded" police officer.
Brown received his Bachelor of Science at Kean University in 1984, and then went on to graduate from Seton Hall University Law School in 1988.

Brown was defeated in the 2011 election for New Jersey Senate District 12. Brown ran unopposed in the primary on June 7, 2011. Republican incumbent Jennifer Beck (R) did not run for re-election. Brown was defeated by Samuel Thompson in the general election which took place on November 8, 2011.[1]

2009
Brown was a 2009 Democratic candidate for New Jersey General Assembly District 13.
He was bracketed with James Grenafege and lost to incumbents Samuel Thompson (R) and Amy Handlin (R). Challenger Sean Dunne also ran.
Brown received 20,302 votes (17%).[2]

Brown is married to Anne. Together they have 2 children, Sarah and Tyler. Sarah is a graduate of Rutgers University, and Tyler is a Brookdale Community College graduate and is currently attending Monmouth University.

District 12 covers 4 counties (Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean and Burlington) and 14 Towns (Old Bridge, Allentown, Englishtown, Manalapan, Matawan, Millstone, Roosevelt, Upper Freehold, Jackson, Plumsted, Chesterfield, New Hanover, North Hanover, Wrightstown.
