Campaign themes
2014
Bruce's campaign website highlighted the following issues:[1]
A commitment to improving local schools
- Excerpt: "Today, more than ever before, a good education is crucial for our kids. Robert’s first priority is reducing class sizes, adding funding for early childhood education, and restoring a full school year."
A supporter of local job training programs
- Excerpt: "Robert will focus on increasing apprenticeships and job training opportunities, and helping small businesses so we can get folks back to work in our community."
Standing up for working Oregonians
- Excerpt: "Robert is running for the State Senate so he can fight for working families in Oregon. We shouldn’t be allowing out of state corporations and the wealthiest few to benefit from huge tax breaks while our schools are struggling and working Oregonians can hardly make ends meet. Robert has stood up to special interests as an advocate in the Oregon Legislature, and he will fight to hold corporations accountable to everyday Oregonians."
