I am a graduate of Great Bridge High School, US Air Force Veteran, Chesapeake Police Officer and proud father of 4 boys. My wife passed away in 2018. I am serving my 3rd term as a Chesapeake city Councilman and running for my 4th term. I am a fiscally conservative leader with some moderate social views. Honesty, transparency and accountability in government has always been my guiding principles. These along with my faith have helped me to do what is best for the citizens of Chesapeake above and beyond party politics.
  • I stand solidly for Honesty, Transparency and Accountability in government! The days of back-room deals must end.
  • Safety in our city is very important to me. We need to support our Police, Fire and Sheriff's departments and make them the best of the best in pay, equipment and training.
  • We need to look at lowering taxes and even eliminating the car tax (Personal Property Tax). As real estate assessments rise, we should lower the tax rate to keep the actual cost steady.
President Ronald Reagan. He was the first true conservative president that captured my attention. I was also in DC the day he was shot.
Honesty and accountability. Must work for the greater good of the city not special interests,.
I'm honest, forthright and believe in our country's values and purpose.
Transparency. Nothing in government should be hidden from the taxpayers.
One of honest dealings, doing what I thought was best for the city of Chesapeake.
The assassination of Martin Luther King. at 8 years old, I remember my mother crying and not really understanding.
Line cook at Dairy Queen in Great Bridge. Held it for a summer.
The Magic of Thinking Big by David Schwartz. This book was given to me by my father when I was a teenager. It's impact on my life was deep. Each day, I use many of the lessons from this book.
Batman
Like a police officer, he possesses no special powers. He only uses his cunning and the tools he carries on his belt.
Don't worry be happy by Bobby McFerrin
The appointment of citizens to boards and commissions. These groups advise Council and determine how Council policy is carried out.
In some ways, yes. However, I think business owners have a unique perspective that enables them to see the inner workings of the existing bureaucracy and work to unclog the wheels of government.
How are politicians like diapers?

They both need to be changed regularly, and for the same reason!
The Chesapeake Fraternal Order of Police
The Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce
I support full disclosure in the budgeting and spending decisions made by City Council.
