Robert C. McGann is a former justice of the Queens County Supreme Court, Criminal Term in the 11th Judicial District of New York. He was appointed to this position in 1994. He also served as a judge of the New York City Criminal Courts beginning in 1986.[1][2]

Education

McGann received his B.A. degree from Fordham University in 1969 and his J.D. degree from the New York University School of Law in 1972.[1]

Career

McGann began his career in 1972 as an Assistant Queens County District Attorney. In 1976, he became a Special Assistant Attorney General for the Office of the Special Prosecutor. He then served from 1981 to 1986 as Inspector General for the N.Y.C. Dept. of Personnel. Throughout his career, from 1977 to 2001, he also taught as an adjunct associate professor at St. John's University.

McGann began his judicial career in 1986 when he was appointed to the New York City Criminal Court. He was reappointed to this court in 1998 and 2008. Beginning in 1994, he also served as an Acting Supreme Court Justice.[1]
