  • Economic Growth: I'll boost the local economy, create jobs, and support small businesses by attracting new industries, investing in infrastructure, and promoting workforce development to reduce unemployment and ultimately lower crime rates.
  • Public Safety: I'm focused on enhancing public safety, reducing crime, and improving law enforcement-community relations. I support community policing, crime prevention, substance abuse initiatives, and job creation in northwest Louisiana.
  • Affordable Elder Care: I'll develop innovative, affordable long-term care solutions, including exploring public-private partnerships, to ensure seniors don't exhaust their savings for quality care. We'll build a future where every Louisiana senior ages with dignity.
The top public policy issues that interest me include: Economic Growth, Public Safety, Affordable Elder Care, Quality Education, Infrastructure Improvement and Arts and Culture. The Arts are so important to our citizens' quality of life, but industries seek locations that will attract and retain a well-educated work force and they demand cultural amenities. Attracting industry will create jobs, which will make our area more attractive to young professionals. Jobs will bring hope and curb crime. I will fight to bolster our strong arts communities so that our area will have a competitive advantage. Education is seminal in lifting our state. I'll prioritize strong public education systems, funding schools, supporting teachers, and providing resources for students. I'll address education quality concerns and advocate for workforce and higher education preparation. Finally, I'm passionate about improving our local infrastructure. I'm committed to fixing roads, bridges, and critical infrastructure, advocating for necessary repairs and enhancements to improve transportation and connectivity in our region.
I look up to those who help others. I would follow effective leaders they are successful in accomplishing their objectives.
Integrity, honesty, compassion, intelligence, leadership, and experience.
I am a good communicator, honest, fair, compassionate and caring, intelligent, collaborate, fiscally conservative, determined, and hardworking.
The core responsibilities of someone is an elected office are to be accountable to the citizens who elected you and to advocate for their safety, happiness, and economic well-being.
I want to affect leave my district, community, and citizens lives in a positive way.
The first historical event that I remember was President John F. Kennedy's assassination in 1963. I was five years old.
I mowed yards throughout high school to save for college tuition.
"To Kill a Mockingbird," by Harper Lee is my favorite book because of the moral lesson it teaches.
Atticus Finch from the novel "To Kill a Mockingbird."
Patsy Cline singing "Crazy," by Willie Nelson was the last song that got stuck in my head.
It has been a struggle balancing care giving for my elderly parents and work for over a decade, but an honor to do so.
A governor and state legislature who compromise when necessary is the ideal relationship on behalf of Louisiana citizens and good government.
I think a healthy mix of experienced state legislators and fresh faces with no previous experience in government or politics is good for government.
Relationships with other legislators is critical to understanding other's point of view and toward gaining collaborative efforts and support.
Why did the chicken cross the road?
The legislature should oversee the use of emergency powers.
Compromise, when necessary, is desirable for policy making. It is often necessary for progress.
One that will affect the ability to attract industry to Louisiana.
Appropriations, Budget, and Education and the Workforce.
