Robert Downes
Robert B. Downes was a superior court judge for the Fourth Judicial District in Fairbanks, Alaska.[1] Downes was appointed on April 20, 2005 by Governor Frank Murkowski and retired from the court in 2012.[2]
Education
Judge Downes graduated from Saint Vincent College with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1965. In 1968 he graduated from Boston College Law School with a J.D.[3]
Career
- 1969-1970: He worked in the Law Offices of Elliott Goodman in Massachusetts.
- 1970-1974: He worked for the State of Alaska as an assistant district attorney in Fairbanks.
- 1974-1978: He was in private practice with Jay Hodges.
- 1978-2005: He was in private practice with Downes, McDonald & Levengood in Fairbanks.[3]
