Robert E. Dvorsky (b. August 18, 1948) is a former Democratic member of the Iowa State Senate, representing District 37 from 2003 to 2019. He previously served in the Iowa House of Representatives from 1986 to 1994. Dvorsky served on the Coralville City Council from 1979 to 1986 and as Mason City Superintendent of Recreation from 1973 to 1979.

Biography

Dvorsky earned his B.S. and M.P.A. from the University of Iowa in 1972 and 1984, respectively. His professional experience includes owning a small business, working as Supervisor of Recreation for the Mason City Parks and Recreation Department, Coordinator of JTPA, Job Developer for the 6th District Department of Correctional Services and for East Central Iowa Employment and Training Consortium in Cedar Rapids.

Elections for the Iowa State Senate took place in 2014. A primary election took place on June 3, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 14, 2014. Incumbent Robert E. Dvorsky was unopposed in the Democratic primary and was unchallenged in the general election.[1][2][3][4]

Dvorsky defeated Libertarian candidate Chris Peters by a margin of 17,964 to 6,092 in the November 2 general election. No Republicans filed to run for this seat.[5]

In the June 8 primary election, Dvorsky ran unopposed.[6]

On November 7, 2006, Dvorsky was re-elected to the 15th District Seat in the Iowa State Senate with no opposition.[7] Dvorsky raised $57,806 for his campaign.[8]
