Robert M. Fillmore was a justice on the Texas Fifth District Court of Appeals. Governor Perry appointed him to this position on May 6, 2009. He was elected to the seat in November 2010 and re-elected on November 6, 2012, for a term that expired on December 31, 2018.[1][2][3] He did not seek re-election in 2018.

Education

Fillmore received his bachelor's degree from the University of Kansas and his law degree from the same school in 1977.[4][1]

Career

Prior to joining the Court of Appeals, Fillmore worked as an attorney and partner of the law firm Hunton and Williams L.L.P. He previously worked as an assistant attorney general and a special assistant attorney general in Kansas. Fillmore has also worked as an adjunct faculty member of Southern Methodist University's Dedman School of Law and the University of Kansas School of Law.[1][4]

Fillmore defeated judicial candidate Lawrence Praeger in the general election on November 6, 2012, with 53.1% of the vote.[5] [6][3]
