Robert Grant is a former Democratic member of the Kansas House of Representatives, representing District 2 from 1997 to December 2013 and from July 1991 to 1994. He resigned on December 10, 2013, citing a loss of passion for the job.[1]

Grant refused to take Project Vote Smart's Political Courage Test. The test, which is administered to all candidates for presidential, congressional, gubernatorial, and state legislative offices, asks one central question - "Are you willing to tell citizens your positions on the issues you will most likely face on their behalf?"[2]

Grant won re-election in the 2012 election for Kansas House of Representatives District 2. Grant ran unopposed in the August 7 Democratic primary and defeated Jeff Locke (R) and Lawrence E. Monaghan (L) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[4][5]

On November 4, 2008, Grant was re-elected to the 2nd District Seat in the Kansas House of Representatives, defeating Jeffrey Grant Locke (R) and Shirley Roy (L).[7] Grant raised $58,494 for his campaign, while Locke raised $4,258 and Roy raised $0.[8]

The Score Card gives each legislator a score from 1%-100% based on how they voted in the prior legislative term on specific issues which the Kansas Policy Institute thought were pro-limited government policies.[9]

Grant and his wife, Lynn, have one child. He has been involved with the American Legion, West Mineral Eagles and Pittsburg Elks Lodge #412 and currently with Big Brothers/Big Sisters and the Cherokee Gun Club.[11]
