Robert Bennett (California)
Robert H. Bennett ran for election to the San Bernardino County Board of Education to represent Area B in California. Bennett lost in the general election on November 8, 2022.
Bennett was a candidate for an at-large seat on the Upland Unified School District school board in California. Bennett was defeated in the at-large general election on November 8, 2016.[1]
Bennett previously ran for a seat on the board. He was defeated in elections in 2001, 2003, 2005, 2008, 2010, 2012, and 2014.[2]
Biography
Robert H. Bennett is a resident of San Bernardino County. Bennett earned both a B.A. in psychology and an M.S.W. from California State University at San Bernardino. He is employed as a county manager with the San Bernardino County government.[3]

2016
Two of the five seats on the Upland Unified School District Board of Education were up for at-large general election on November 8, 2016. Incumbent Linda Angona filed for re-election and faced four opponents: Jeffrey Hackbarth, Jack Young, Robert Bennett, and Donna Rogone O'Neill.[4] Angona won re-election, and Young won the other seat on the ballot.[5]

He reported $800.00 in contributions and $1,297.00 in expenditures to San Bernardino County Elections Office of the Registrar of Voters, which left his campaign with $15.78 on hand as of October 22, 2016.[6]

The election in Upland featured three at-large seats up for general election on November 4, 2014. Incumbents Wes Fifield, Philip Joseph Lenz and Michael J. Varela defeated challenger Robert H. Bennett for the seats.

Funding
Candidates had to file contribution reports within 24 hours of receiving an aggregate total of $1,000 or more from a single source. The first scheduled pre-election report filing deadline was October 6, 2014. If candidates raised or spent less than $1,000 during the 2013 and 2014 calendar years, they had to file Form 470 at that time. If candidates raised or spent more during that time, they had to file Form 460 by the pre-election report filing deadline.[7]
Candidates required to file Form 460 also had to file a second pre-election report on October 23, 2014, and they had to file termination reports by December 31, 2014. If a termination report was not filed, candidates had to file a semi-annual report by February 2, 2015.[7]
Bennett did not report any contributions or expenditures during the election, according to the San Bernardino County Elections Office of the Registrar of Voters.[8]
