Robert Haus is a Republican public affairs consultant in Des Moines, Iowa.[1] He was a senior Iowa strategist for Rick Perry's 2016 presidential campaign.[2] A graduate of Iowa State University and the University of Iowa Law School, Haus is the founder of RH Public Affairs in Des Moines.[3]
Career
In 2005, Robert Haus and his wife Ruth started Eagle Media Group, "a full service media production company," according to the Des Moines Reigster.[4]
Haus worked on a number of presidential campaigns, including those for Steve Forbes, Fred Thompson and Rick Perry. In 2007, Haus worked as a media advisor for Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R) in her campaign for U.S. House in Iowa's 2nd Congressional District.[3] In 2010, Haus joined PolicyWorks, a public affairs team in Des Moines, as vice president of public affairs; he was hired to lead "efforts for clients as they relate to public affairs, grassroots and media campaigns."[5]
In 2012, Haus worked as the Iowa chair for Perry's presidential campaign.[4]

On February 15, 2015, Robert Haus was hired as an Iowa consultant for RickPAC, Rick Perry's leadership PAC.[1] Perry announced his presidential run on June 4, 2015.[6] Of Perry's Iowa hires, the Washington Post noted: "GOP operatives looked favorably on his choice of senior strategist Bob Haus and a team of field staffers who all have presidential caucus experience, know the grassroots and are respected by the activists all these candidates are courting."[7]
Perry suspended his presidential campaign on September 11, 2015.[8]
