Hayden was appointed as a commissioner for the Massachusetts Public Utilities Commission by Massachusetts Secretary of Energy and Environmental Affairs Matthew Beaton in January 2015. Hayden joined the Department of Public Utilities in 2001 and served as a Hearing Officer in the Legal Division and focused on enforcement in the Pipeline Safety Division. Prior to joining the Department of Public Utilities, Hayden was a prosecutor with the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office.[1][2]
