Robert Dixon Herman (1911-1990) was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.

Herman was nominated by President Richard Nixon on October 2, 1969, to a seat vacated by Frederick Follmer; he was confirmed by the Senate on December 10, 1969, and received commission the next day. He assumed senior status on September 25, 1981,[1] and served until his death on April 5, 1990. Herman was succeeded in this position by William Caldwell.
