Robert Jackson Jr. is a former Democratic commissioner on the Securities and Exchange Commission. He was appointed by President Donald Trump (R) and unanimously confirmed by the Senate. He served from 2018 to 2020.[1]
Biography
Jackson earned two bachelor's degrees in finance and philosophy from the University of Pennsylvania. He also received an MBA from the Wharton School of Business, a master's degree from Harvard Kennedy School, and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.[1]
Before entering government service, Jackson was an attorney at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz. He also worked as a senior policy advisor at the U.S. Treasury Department and a law professor at NYU School of Law and Columbia Law School.[1]
Jackson was appointed to the Securities and Exchange Commission by President Donald Trump (R) and unanimously confirmed in 2018. He served in that role until February 14, 2020.[1]
