Robert L. Headrick is a judge for the Blount County General Sessions Court in Blount County, Tennessee. He is based out of Maryville, Tennessee. He was elected to this position by the Blount County Commissioners to replace Judge David R. Duggan. He was sworn in to office on September 10, 2008, and was elected (and re-elected) without opposition in 2010 and 2014.[1][2][3] His current term expires on August 31, 2022.[4]

Primary: He ran unopposed in the Republican primary on May 6, 2014.
General: He won without opposition in the general election on August 7, 2014. [3]

Headrick was elected to the Blount County General Sessions Court after running unopposed.[5]

Education

Headrick received his B.A. degree from the University of Tennessee in 1988 and his J.D. degree from the Nova University Center of Law in 1991.[6]

Career

Headrick began his career in 1989 as a law clerk for the Law Office of Julie Koenig. Upon graduating from law school in May of 1991, he became an assistant state attorney in Collier County, Florida. He moved to the Broward County State Attorney's Office in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in June of 1993, where he continued to serve as an assistant state attorney in the County Court Unit (1993-1994), the Felony Trial Unit (1994-1996) and the Appellate Unit (1996-1998). In March of 1998, Headrick moved to Tennessee to work as an assistant attorney general in the Civil Division. From February 2000 to October 2002, he served as an assistant district attorney for Knox County. He then worked as an assistant district attorney general in Blount County until his judicial election in 2008.[6]
