Robert L. Lowrey
Robert L. Lowrey was a judge of the Colorado 4th Judicial District. He served from 2004 to 2021. He retired from the court on April 1, 2021.[1]
He was appointed to this position in August of 2003 and took office the following January.[2]
Education
Lowrey graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1974 and served on active military duty for five years. During this time, he earned a Masters degree in Public Administration from Georgia College in 1978. He then earned a law degree from the University of Colorado Law School in 1981.[2]
Career
Lowrey worked as a general practitioner from May of 1982 until his judicial appointment in 2003.[2]

Lowrey was retained in the general election on November 6, winning 74.72% of the vote.[3]

Judicial performance evaluation
The Fourth Judicial District Commission on Judicial Performance announced its recommendations for judges up for retention in 2012. According to its website, the commission evaluates judges based on the following criteria: integrity, legal knowledge, communication skills, judicial temperament, and administrative performance.[4]
Judge Lowrey was recommended for retention by an unanimous vote. [5]
