Robert McCallum was a judge of the Ninth Circuit East of Arkansas. Governor Mike Huckabee originally appointed him to the seat in January 1997. Because appointees are not allowed to run for their seat, he gave up the bench to John Thomas in January 1999. McCallum regained his seat for a six-year term in 2008 after defeating Thomas in that year's election. He ran unopposed for and won re-election to the Ninth Circuit East on May 20, 2014.[1][2][3][4][5]
