2017

Onofrietti posted the below statement on his Facebook campaign page:

Before I took office, the district did not have a clear understanding of how to go after grants and how to properly acquire them. While I served as president last year, I worked very closely with the Jay and Linda Grunin foundation in order to centralize this process in order to be more competitive and successful with our grant applications. Last year the Toms River Board of Education hired a full-time grant writer with the help of the Jay and Linda Grunin foundation. In that time we have successfully been awarded over $700,000 of new money into the district with an additional $400,000 in our pipeline.

I plan on continuing this work and supporting these effort's when I am re elected. Thank you so much for your support!![7]

2014

The Clean Slate for TRBOE posted the following joint statement on their Facebook campaign page:

We Pledge to Take Politics Out of Our Schools
  • As School Board Members, we will make sure that the superintendent is accountable to us and not the other way around
  • We will be a responsive board that bases our decisions on what is best for the kids and fair to the taxpayers.
  • We need a fair and transparent hiring and promotions process that is based on ability. Job postings and promotional opportunities will be posted online.
  • Ritacco’s Team of overpaid lawyers, accountants, and “consultants” are still working for the school system and are making millions. They will NOT be reappointed. Our hard earned tax dollars belong in the classroom.[7]
